    Trac Attack – Week #12

    Hi there!

GSoC is almost over, so it’s time for a little summary of my project: I have managed to submit about 75 patches (might be a little more if counting partial patches). This exceeds a little my project goal set at the beginning, so I can say that my project was finished successfully 🙂 The number of “has-patch” tickets has significantly increased and now it’s time for my summer trip:

When I come back in September, I’ll still be around and hope to keep contributing to the WordPress project. Thanks for the last two months, guys!

Sorry for the late update 😉 Preparing for the end of the project – again, the last week will be probably the most productive one, as I tend to wait with submitting the patches for the last minute. Besides, everything goes very well (except for the weather ;( ).

    hi,

I went through some old tickets, worked on a few already located, found a few new ones… just a usual week. Hoping to close a few more tickets in the following days.

    Have a nice weekend!

Trac Attack – Week #8 , Midterm update

    Hi there!

This week I have reached my midterm goal – 40 patches submitted! You can see them under the “gsoc” tag on Trac. I fixed some UI and core bugs, added a few core enhancements, as well as UI improvements. I’m already working on some more patches, so stay tuned for more Trac Annihilation info 😉

    Trac Attack Week #7

Another 9 patches this week so far, I will probably be submitting some more during the weekend to meet the required for mid-term trac issues count by monday.

Have a nice weekend (yup yup, the SC2 beta is back online!)

Sadly, last weekend I had a funeral on the other side of the country to attend and wasn’t able to submit my post so I do it now, sorry for the delay. Right now I’m in the middle of re-organizing all of my non-closed tickets and applying sequentially all patches. I want to have all of them closed by tomorrow before I start working on anything new. Gearing up to get the tickets count higher!

    Trac Attack – Week #5

4 patches already submitted, another 4 in testing. Fixes from this week include fixing small caching issues, some javascript login functions (BTW, it seems there’s some redundant code in wp-login.php, I’ll take a look at it somewhere during the next week), and a few more. The next few days might be quite productive, with only two weeks left to the midterm evaluations I hope to have enough tasks closed the following week, including the long lasting ones from the beginning. Remember to track my updates via the “gsoc” keyword!

    Have a nice weekend!

    Trac Attack – Week #4

This week I have been focusing mainly on the transparent GIF image resizing issue and and the issues related to the <link rel=””> tag. I was hoping to tackle a little more issues, but the resizing turned out to be pretty tricky as it requires to be treated a little different from other page formats and needs a little testing on my side to make sure various images are handled correctly (the key is the transparent color, which may vary depending on images, although in most cases it’s black 😉 ). I’m hoping to commit these patches today or during the weekend.

    Have a nice weekend!

It’s really tricky with resizing images which have transparency, also tried to solve such problem on one my older library and without needed result, so leaved it for future. Now I think that I’ll borrow your solution if you’ll manage to do it (or maybe already did).

The truth is, it is a little hard to provide a working solution for all cases because of the GIF image nature, but I think that I have worked out the best way to handle the issue for the vast majority of cases. Will submit it probably around Sunday, because I’ll be offline for the next 24 hours due to some family stuff.

    Trac Attack – Week #3

It was a hard week, as my ISP went down for a few deys and I was forced to work mostly offline (sorry for the delay, I wish I could post this report on Friday ;( ). Fortunately, I was still able to do a lot of testing on the current issues and confirm the ones I found earlier. I have also prepared my first patches. I started tagging the issues I’m working on and the ones that are in my queue as “gsoc” on Trac to make tracking my work easier for me and everyone else interested.
